The Encore GX is essentially a replacement for the Encore; however, Buick will be making both for 2022. The Encore GX offers a little more space and luxury than other extra-small SUVs, improving your driving experience. Here’s why the 2021 Encore GX is a better value than ever.

Trims and Traits

You can get the 2021 Buick Encore GX in three trim levels: Preferred, Select, and Essence. The Preferred starts you off with 18-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels, deep-tinted glass, and LED running daylights. Moving up to the Select adds roof-mounted side rails and an available panoramic tilt-sliding moonroof plus 18-inch medium Android high-gloss wheels with chrome inserts. Finally, the Essence upgrades you to automatic on/off LED headlights, Anderson Silver accents on both front and rear bumpers, LED tail lights, and an available hands-free power liftgate.

Power and Performance

The Preferred and Select trims come standard with a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission. This combination powers a front-wheel-drive system and delivers 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Standard on the Essence and all-wheel-drive versions of the Preferred and Select is a turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine. This engine produces 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque and is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Comfort and Convenience

Slide into the 2021 Encore GX, and you discover that Buick put time and thought into designing an interior that drivers and passengers alike will enjoy. You get keyless entry and ignition, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, and cloth with imitation leather upholstery on the Preferred. Other features include an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio with a six-speaker audio system, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. You can add a remote start engine, power-adjustable driver’s seat, and heated front seats with the Cold Weather package.

The Select adds dual-zone automatic climate control and a rear armrest. The Essence goes a step further with an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated steering wheel, driver’s seat memory settings, power-adjustable passenger’s seat, and leather upholstery. A navigation system and wireless charging pad are options available with the addition of packages on the Essence.

Safe and Sound

Buick knows that safety plays a key role in purchasing a new vehicle and has plenty of standard and available safety and driver-assistance options for that reason. Standard features include forward-collision mitigation, lane-departure mitigation, and an advanced air bag system to protect you and your passengers in the event of a collision. If you opt to add the Safety package, you also get a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control. You get the blind-spot monitor standard on the Select. Adding packages to the Essence gets you a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, rearview camera, and an automated parking system.
