It’s one of a handful of truck-based SUVs that offer impressive towing capacity. The new Yukon is also 6.1 inches longer than previous model years, providing more legroom for passengers and space for cargo. As if that weren’t enough, the Yukon offers an independent rear suspension for the first time, providing you with a smoother ride. Now that you’re ready to check out a 2021 Yukon, let’s start by breaking down the 2021 GMC Yukon Trim levels.

GMC Yukon SLE

The base trim for the 2021 GMC Yukon is the SLE, which comes with a 5.3-liter V-8 engine that’s paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The SLE rolls down the road on 18-inch wheels and features bright roof-mounted side rails, a black assist step, and deep-tinted glass. You get seating for eight with two bench seats in the back and keyless entry and ignition. Enjoy the 10.2-inch touch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. Forward collision mitigation is a standard driver assistance feature on the SLE.

You can further customize your SLE by adding either the GMC Pro Safety Plus Package or the Max Trailering Package. Also available is nine-passenger seating with three bench seats and tire pressure monitoring sensors for your trailer. The SLE is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.

GMC Yukon SLT

The SLT is Yukon’s mid-level model, adding the GMC Pro Safety Package as standard along with 20-inch wheels. You also get a hands-free liftgate, heated and ventilated front seats, and leather upholstery. The SLT upgrades to a nine-speaker Bose audio system and wireless charging pad. Optional packages for the SLT are the Rear Media and Nav, SLT Luxury, and Max Trailering packages. There’s also an optional seven-passenger seating configuration with second-row captain’s chairs. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive available.

GMC Yukon AT4

If you’re looking for an off-road option, then the 2021 GMC Yukon AT4 is the one for you. The AT4 is only available in four-wheel drive and adds its own unique look to the Yukon. This look includes a front fascia to improve the approach angle, dark gray wheels with all-terrain tires, and front tow hooks and skid plate. The package also includes a heavy-duty air filter.

On top of what’s offered on the SLT, the AT4 adds adaptive suspension dampers, hill descent control, and a two-speed active transfer case. You also get driver-seat memory settings, a heated steering wheel, heated outboard second-row seats, and a power-folding third row. Packages include Technology, Premium Capability with Active Response 4WD, AT4 Premium Plus, and Max Trailering.
